It is the first volume of a series focused on the study of the Coleoptera from the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands.

121 taxa are studied up to species and subspecies. All include the original description and illustrated determination keys. Each species include all the taxonomical combinations and synonyms, as well as a wide diagnosis, the geographical distribution, the biology, comments and the studied material.

All the species locations and their UTM coordinates are related, being complemented by an extense bibliography and a complete taxonomic index.

The book is 455 pages long, with 154 pages having illustrations: 12 include 74 morphological details; there are 36 full-page drawings of the habitus; 34 pages aedeagi drawings; 60 pages with 119 distribution maps and 20 more pages with pictures of spermatecae
