This is the first of a series of Supplements devoted to the South American Cerambycidae. It complements and updates Cerambycidae Sul-americanos written by one of the authors. It includes the following tribes of Cerambycinae: Oemini, Methiini, Dodecosini, Paraholopterini, Phlyctaenodini, Pleiarthrocerini and Ectenessini. 37 genera are studied, with distributional data for all of their species; 57 species are dealt with in particular detail. Full-colour photographs (21x29 cm) and distribution maps of the species complement the text. Each species is briefly described, and ecological, geographical and bibliographic details are provided.
